Meng has announced a new CS line starting with the Ford F-350 in 1:24 scale. Well known for the innovative and high quality kits in other genres, this is an exciting release for us AutoModelers!
The brand new product announced by Meng at the International Toy Fair Nürnberg is the Ford F-350 Pickup truck in 1/24th scale!

From Meng:

“In 1999, Ford Motor Company released a new F-Series pickup, the Ford F-350 Super Duty, which was powered by a diesel engine. Its size and payload were increased to meet customer needs of special multi-purpose transportation, towing and hauling and other use. After many years of development, Ford F-350 Super Duty has become a top-ranked luxury pickup with heavy load capacity and high level configuration.

This 1/24 scale Ford F-350 Super Duty plastic model kit replicates the accurate exterior of this muscle truck. The precision and complex engine bay is fully represented. Two options of the wheel hubs and side steps are provided. A movable tailgate and a bed extender are included. Realistic metal plated parts are provided for the engine grille and wheel hubs. Metal reflective mirror film is provided for the rear view mirrors. Length: 277mm Width: 112mm”

Sahweet! MENG's detail is clean and crisp in the other kits that I have of theirs. Maybe they'll do more PU trucks in the future if this one sells profitably. Maybe in 1/35 too?

Right now this truck has a suggested price of $74 US. I'm sure it's going to be a nice kit, but that's a little too steep for me for a PU. Jim

$75 USD is too high for me too.

no motor, no tranny... otherwise known as "curbside" for $75 no thanks

Sounds like this isn't a curbside kit: The precision and complex engine bay is fully represented. We'll see when we have a review done on it. The MSRP is steep, more than I expected...hopefully it will retail for just a little more than Aoshima/Fujimi kits (~$43 bucks at Luckymodel, although shipping kills it). I wouldn't expect Revell/Monogram pricing though

hard to tell from the small sprue pic... maybe I'm wrong
APR 04, 2014 - 03:05 AM
The sprue far right middle looks like the engine parts and the upper right corner looks like the Revell style 1 piece chassis. But at $75. though …. I'll probably end up buying it anyway

I find it interesting that a Chinese company made this kit and not an American one since American model makers usually dominate the auto model market. I agree that $75 is steep...that's the price of Trumpeter's 1/24 modern ALF fire engine with a lot more parts and details. It's a nice and welcome kit however.

According to pictures on the MENG website it has a detailed engine and engine bay
