Well guys, this is the 1st time ever that I've posted a new purchase.

I've been looking for more Revell IMSA GTO & SCCA Trans Am kits, which aren't that easy to come by, and when I have found them, the prices were always around $60 plus shipping. The few low ball prices always had a high shipping cost, so the seller was just playing games.

I googled the kit I was most interested in, the Folgers Roush GTO car, and I got all ebay posts. I just went down the list till I found one for $40 with $9 shipping that included Tracking, and Priority mail. When I checked the current ebay listings, it wasn't there, so I emailed the vendor.

He replied back within a day that the kit was indeed still for sale, as he was a online hobby shop. So I bought the kit. Got all the usual emails from ebay and PayPal and a receive date by 10/22. The pictures of the kit showed an open kit but a perfect box and the kit parts in the one large plastic bag that Revell always used.

The kit arrived today, 4 days early, and he shipped me another kit. This one also had a perfect box and it was shrinked wrapped. Can't ask for more.

Going to keep on checking out his listings for older, harder kits to find.

Got a package, from Hiroboy(Very fast delivery)

Very nice wheels, from Aoshima. The 19 inch wheels, I might use, for the Mustang, for the Blue oval GB.

Jesper,
Now that's a really nice haul for sure.

Love those wheels. For my money I'd go with the 19 inch black wheels as they really do make quite a statement.

Looking forward to seeing how you paint those figures. Should really be quite interesting to say the least.

BTW, I've shied away from buying anything from Hiroboy, and opting for Spot Model out of Spain just because of the VAT tax. Are they still charging that tax plus the normal shipping?

Joel: No extra taxes, since Denmark and the UK, both are in the EU. Postage, how ever, was quite expensive. I would have liked to have had the option to chose a slower and less expensive postage.

I Will most likely go for the 19", for the 65 Mustang.

Jesper,
I totally forgot about being a EU member country. So for me, it makes a lot more sense to deal wit Spot Model in Spain, or head over to the Orient.

Like I said, the 19 inch wheels really will make a great statement.

Hi Joel
I've bought a lot of stuff from Hiroboy. If you are outside the EU as you and I are they deduct the tax the VAT when you enter the shipping address showing delivery outside EU. As Jesper said they are extremely efficient at shipping plus a huge range of stuff.

Cheers

Michael,
That makes it a whole new ballgame for me.

Honestly, I've found that being a road racing modeler, that the number of well stocked online retailers here in the states is very limited. Those I do use are mostly for detail items. Spot Models has literally become my number one resource followed by HLJ (Hobby Link Japan), but the shipping time from there has always been a major problem for me.

Hiroboy has a lot going for it in terms of my interests and needs. I'm going to give them a test order and see how it goes.

Stumbled across this one still in its original shrink wrap.

And picked up this one very cheap with the bulbar missing. This was the last kit my father built before he passed away in September 2017, so along with rebuilding his kit I will do my own as a tribute build.

Very nice D.

Pretty cool, with the millennium wrap still on it. Let's hope they updated the tool, to take it into the new millennium, just a little bit, so you don't have to deal with the awful frame, body, interior fitting issues.

With your scratch building skills, building a bull bar shouldn't be a problem.

I’m looking forward to opening this one up to see how the sprues look. I will do some test fitting and probably an in box review soon.

There is a local company that does high quality resin cast Aussie style bull bars at a very reasonable price, I will probably order one from there along with some bullet style lights for the roof of the Opel Blitz.

Hi again

Postie delivered a neat package today:

I'll do a review in due course, but everything's a bit heavy on the home front at the moment, so it might be a little way down the line. Hopefully things will get back onto more of an even keel before long.

All the best

Yep, the classic car bug has bitten for sure! Excellent addition Rowan, I've seen a couple of really nice builds of this kit recently. Looking forward to your review and (eventual) build.

Rowan,
Unlike D, I don't think I've ever seen this kit built up before, so I'm really looking forward to both your review, and your build blog.

I've seen a few very nice builds, of the '57 Del Rio wagon.
Both stock and police car could be very cool builds.

Following on from Nick's Porsche build I looked at a larger scale versions at MFH and last week took the plunge. This arrived.

I think it will be my build for the Strip, Track and Trail - Race campaign next year.

cheers

Michael, I had to look, at Hiroboys website. Is it the pink pig? Those big scale MFH kits are absolutely spectacular.

Michael,
Now that's super impressive. How about a in box review along with your thoughts on the build and what extra details you'll be adding.

HI Michael -

Wow - that looks like the 1/12 scale version! cool! Yes, the Fujimi conversion I worked on was part of my test/trials course to find out if I could handle an MFH kit. My interpretation of the engine conversion/addition to that build was certainly inspired by MFH kits - if you look closely at the throttle linkages (scratch built), fuel injector/s, lines, and distributors, you'll see they are modeled after the "real deal" in the MFH kit.

So, looking forward to seeing this come together

cheers
Nick
