Best of the season to all.

Here is a procedure for creating a velocity stack for the carb. A Christmas bell is used to cast a shape;

The shape is attached to a mandrel and shaped by turning , carving , sanding etc:

Checking:

Toy got fixed by a guagepods kit into a usable tool:

First tries were lacking, including in front of my entire IPMS crew , I figured out that raising the shape relieved the wrinkles that were occurring:

And perseverance resulted in an acceptable sample:


The velocity stack will have a disc of fine screen inserted in the face , so I wont be making any details for the venturi.

holiday parts array consists of the seat in first black , the petcock chromed , and the fork legs touched up , as well as the engine chrome touched up, in preparation for installation in the frame. That will be next|:

Here is a pic showing some primary drive parts. The Revell cop bike is in plastic , the Revell drag bike is in chrome and my replication of the 1/2" aluminum plate racers used to align the engine and trans , out of .035" brass sheet.

A spacer and some washers and a nut threaded on tightens the engine/trans/primary plate into place. A pully will be here in the future, this is for trans mounting purposes . This sank it all down, right into the mounts, real happy to see everything seat perfectly:

Drilled the exhaust ports in the head for the pipes to come. Drilled out the spark plug holes to fit RB Motions 1/8 scale turned aluminum spark plugs :

Also fitted the s/s top motor mount:

Contemplating a large number of details to come , beginning with the clutch cable attachment to the frame. RB Motion again with the cable end play adjustors:

Also the handlebars made it on as well as the spark plugs.
