Thanks for checking in, Fellas.
A couple 2014 Grandeurs pics from the interwebs provides the look I was after:

The Glass part is one think piece of clear plastic.

First, I cut out the two front window panes.

Modern cars have a black border around the windows to block out the ugly edges of where the panels and glass all come together.

I painted the third break light with Clear Red then an over coat of Future. Once dry, masking with vinyl tape begins. Black was painted first then that was masked off in certain places to spray gray for the interior color.

thanks for looking...

Niiiiiiice!

Same as aircraft, a masking job can make or break a finished build. You nailed it here, great job.

Thanks, D

I had to get it right the first time because I don't know how to strip paint off of clear parts and re-do without totally thrashing it.

I used the same masking material for the front marker lights. The mask is inside then paint clear orange inside the clear parts.

The plastic wheel covers are thermal formed uniquely to each specific style wheel. I used self adhesive vinyl sheet material for the four wheels.

A standard hole punch for paper was used to make the center hub disc from thin styrene sheet. There is a silicone gasket making material in a tube that is very affordable. This was used to make a quick mold of the Hyundai logo badge.

Once cured, a tiny bit of casting resin was poured 4 times. Once the casts were cured I sanded them down flat and thin. Then glued them to the styrene discs.

A square piece of styrene rod was cut and glued into the wheel to represent the valve stem 'bulge' in the wheel cover.

The vinyl sheet was burnished down into the detail with a cotton swab then trimmed around the wheel. Then painted.

Air dry silicone mold material from a tube.

Casting resin poured into mold.

Cast logo sanded down as flat as I can.

Then these were glued to the discs.

Really nice work-- especially the window and interior details-- I'm going to remember that, most modelers forget the seals and skip the headliner. I don't think I've ever seen a car model done in the "shipping" mode, so it will be unique, do seven more, put them on AMTs (maybe it's MPCs--I can't remember now) car carrier and you'd have a really unique eye catcher! As a side note, my daughter just bought a brand new Hyundai Tucson, and was trying to figure out why the headlights were so cloudy shortly after bringing it home from the dealer-- the detailed had forgotten to remove the clear vinyl protection film from the front and real lights! Upon closer inspection, I found clear vinyl film on all the interior trim, the roof light, and the instrument package! They really do protect them well.

Hi VR. Russ,
Thanks for looking in and commenting on this build.
It's Revell that recently boxed the modern version of the auto carrier trailer,
http://revell.com/model-kits/trucks/85-1509.html#.WQFXTIWxnjA
and that's a fantastic idea. The Azera kit is in the 20-something dollar range so it could be done

That's funny that the dealership didn't peel all of the plastic off. However, I would prefer to have all the plastic still on and I'll remove it myself. The car would seem newer to me like it's so new that it's still in the packaging.

Also, I've heard only good things about the Tucson so good choice.

KoSprue,
Yes-- the Hyundai is a good product-- I've owned two, and my daughter owns this new one-- I have a Santa-Fe and owned a Tucson previously. Had no problems- my Santa Fe has 120,000 miles and is still going strong-- you can't beat the 100,000 mile or ten year warrantee either. At 98,000 my stereo system died-- and they put in a brand new $2500 Pioneer blue tooth system as an upgrade under warrantee since the old Infinity system wasn't made anymore. My Daughter's Tucson comes standard with so many nice features. Of course I lived in Korea for three years, so I understood their reputation. I'd love to see that car carrier with your Azera on it-- that would be great!

Wow, what year is the Santa Fe? Were you in the service or civilian work in Korea? The auto carrier project sounds interesting but I have way too many kits in the stash right now that I need to be building, LOL.

I'm starting to wrap this up
The headlights and taillights are installed and I need to apply BMF over the taillight part before I install the glass so I don't mess it up.

Keeperofsouls2099 and Hwa-Rang, Haha, yeah still at it. I had a little setback with old brittle BMF so that's what I'm working on now.
Thanks for the comments.

Finally finished the Hyundai Azera (with Grandeur grille though). It represents an imported vehicle into North America at port of entry status. Basically still in customs.
