Master Box announced an upcoming set of 1/24 figures - one of which is this one: http://www.mbltd.info/24021.htm Since she is sitting half in and half out of the car, could anyone suggest a kit which has open-able doors. Most of the car kits I've seen have bodies with molded shut doors. Looking for an obviously sporty-looking modern car.

You are correct: most 1/24 scale car kits have the doors molded in the closed position. Probably because most cars & trucks are seen with the doors in the closed position when they are in use or sitting on a parking lot. Sometimes you just have to pick a model & open the doors yourself.

Now, I did a quick search through Cyberspace, and I did find that the Fujimi Lamborghini Veneno has opening doors:

Or at least the box shows it with the doors open. Actuall, several of the Aoshima & Fujimi Lamborghini models are shown with open doors. Same goes for the 1/24 Tamiya Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

(This is actual photo of a completed model)

The only car I found in 1/25 scale was the AMT Piranha Spy Car:

I'm not exactly sure what Master Box was thinking. Good luck with your search. Try here: Hobbylinc

Thanks for your input. And exactly what I was thinking about Masterbox...they make a great looking figure that is virtually useless - unless you could model her sitting on/in anything other than a vehicle!

True, and I cannot justify spending $70 on a car model just to use a figure. Maybe Master Box is planning on branching out into car models? I doubt it, but ICM did so who knows.

Revell's Mercedes SLS AMG has open-able doors.
Revells' Dodge Charger custom SRT-8 has working scissor doors.
I'm fairly certain Tamiya's Ferrari Enzo has working doors as well.

If one has a steady hand and works slowly. the doors can be cut out and positioned open, and even hinged to open and close.

There were articles on doing this in model car magazines 45 years ago. Today there are videos. The construction of most 1/24-1/25 auto kits hasn't changed sine the 1960's

Revell has a few 1:24/1:25 scale kits in the 15-25€ categorie like

Mercedes Benz SLS AMG
McLaren 570S
BMW Z1
BMW i8

Those would actually "fit" the "lady" of the Masterbox kit

In my case, this is a short-cut to ruining a good model . I've done plenty of kit-bashing and modifications on military models, but they are a lot more forgiving than car models.

Thanks. I'll have to check these out.
