Hi, guys!
UPDATE:
Yet another step back into this build! One of my main reasons of discontent was the look of the tires - to black and way too glossy, very unrealistic looks. I removed them (with the additional damage, naturally!) and applied a very light wash of gray chalk and enamel thinner which I removed afterwards almost completely:
I was feeling that they weren't matte enough not even after the chalk treatment, and I applied further a light coat of satin coat:
I reinstalled the tires and started to apply the last bits and pieces, knocking down other bits and pieces in the process - it would have been straight comical if wasn't me the one involved :
The "MACK" sign is composed from individual letters and I glued them with Micro Kristal Klear to avoid visible residue:
Lateral badges, turn signals, and the mirror support installed - all very fiddly because crappy molding / engineering:
I have attached meanwhile the fenders back, just to discover that I forgot to paint the door handles and the supports for the right side mirror. So I'll be late again! (du-uh!)
Cheers!

Thank you, Rob. Some tedious work started eventually to pay off.
KSO - thank you for your appreciation! That was the whole meaning of the custom graphics. Some good friend of mine asked if I do only "machinas" and why so? I wanted to put some "soul" into this beast. If I get it right, I am happy; if not - I keep trying!
Cheers!

Gabriel,
Good to see you getting close to the finish. Not the most handsome Mack every designed but your colour scheme certainly gives it an edge.
cheers
Michael

Thanks, Michael! I agree - it gives me the same feeling like a Soviet AFV: too ugly not to love it!
UPDATE
And this is the actual stage, with the fenders back on place and a mirror installed. I still need to scratch-build the rear bumper and the "bug eyes" but yes, I'm nearly there!
I'll try to find and prime all the remaining parts tonight for a last airbrush assault
Cheers!

Hi, guys!
LAST UPDATE
Finally I managed to add all the small things together and I call it done!
The last sub assembly I had to improvise was the rear protection bar. The kit provides holes into the chassis frame for rear lights, but I chose to make a rear bar, using the alternate front one, and a minimum of scratch:
I made the white lights from acetate sheet glued from behind, and painted the brake lights with Tamiya clear red:
... then bit by bit all the jazz came together. Please enjoy the pictures with the completed model:
Conclusions to this build:
I am mightily glad I finished! I had enough of trucks for a while and enough of MPC for the rest of my life. Sadly enough, I love trucks, but this eight month build put me well out of it (at least for now). I have no other truck in my stash and I don't see nothing appetizing out there: either the prices are ridiculous, either the quality is from '70s. Unless a miracle happens, I'm done here!
Thanks for checking in!
Cheers!

Very nice and shiny finish. You actually should do more trucks. You sure know how to handle them and your unique style sets it above the rest.

Thanks, KSO! That's a very nice way to say I should spend another eight months for a pitiful build? Just teasing I am just frustrated the build stretched for so long and flipped off too many times my modeling mood switch, interfering seriously with some other projects. But I find the result attractive, to be honest and maybe eventually worthy!
I'm glad you liked it and thank you one more time for your kind words of encouragement!
Cheers!

Thanks, Michael. I would be insincere to say that I am not pleased with the result, because I am. The fact that embittered me it was that I hit all too many unnecessary speed bumps in this build. Maybe I will attack an Italeri in some distant future, even the Lonestar from Moebius, but for now I have to cope with my wasted time...
Thank you for your kind support!
Cheers!

Well done Gabriel!
I'm glad you finished.
Have a look at the Revell Kenworth Aerodyne, I just recently picked one up and even though it dates back to the early 80's looks like a very nice kit!
Cheers Rob.

Thanks, Rob! Coincidentally, Kenworth Aerodyne is one of few American trucks I really like. I'm off on YT to search a review on it right now. Well, the age shouldn't be a problem. I bought for Porsche Group Build a Tamiya that also backdates from the '80s and it's delicious!
I really appreciate your feed-back and the helping tip.
Cheers!
