Very nice recovery. I could not have done that and it probably would have flown.

Thanks, David! I am surprised myself how easy it was! Honestly, the most difficult part was to match the green tint!

Thanks for stopping by!

Now that's impressive. What a great save. I can't tell the difference from your paint to the decal itself.

There are several excellent Vids out on the 2K process. One by our Will Paterson. Honestly, Zero & Gravity (which I have to go to Spain for), charges $22.50 for it. I might down the road try it, but for now I'm working with just Lacquers.

I think I sanded too much the previous clear coat until I reach the decals and the new clear was too "hot" and made the decals run

Oh no!! This is not good Gabriel!

But! it looks like you shall overcome this obstacle with skill and dexterity! Good luck with these fractious clear coats. For something that is hard to see, they sure give a lot of problems don't they?

Thank you so much, mate! You know the background of the cover photo of this feature it's going to be Victoria at night, don't you?

Ah, I shall have to see if I can figure out where the photo was taken

I know Will's videos and a couple of YT "greats" are using regularly 2K Diamond but not necessarily what works for them works for me. The best example is Tamiya acrylics. I just cannot go along with and I had better results with craft acrylics - and much better with Liquitex for that matter. And, finally, in all honesty I have to say that the culprit wasn't Klear Kote but myself. It took me four fails to understand I have the wrong needle setup. As soon I changed .2mm with .4mm all went smooth like butter. I have serious reasons to question myself if my IQ it's even a positive number

Russel Thank you for being so supportive along my trip down this build! I guess you'll be able to easily identify the place, since it's a wallpaper

And now the REVEAL

Before anything else, thanks to everyone who got involved in my build with his support and advice.

The following pictures are not all the pictures - I broke a mirror during the shooting and I decided that I am too tired (and too pissed off in that moment) and it's better if I wait for tomorrow to do a proper job

Please enjoy!

More pictures and a full feature follows! Stay close!

Cheers!

Gabriel My Friend,
OMG !! you've reached the level where your finished replica (it's way more then a plastic model at this point) looks as real as the real deal!! Your model and finish is that good. Anyone looking at your finished pictures couldn't possibly tell the difference.

You've actually given me the final push I needed to start building race cars from years past that have meaning to me as I've been a racing enthusiast since I was 13 years old. And having this forum on KitMaker Network makes alternating my builds so much easier, and I'm still with my online modeling friends.

So what's your next build going to be?

Bravo.

Michael thank you for following my trip from beginning to the end. It was fun (well, most of the time ). And the one to learn the most from this adventure it was me. As stated earlier it's my first motorcycle ever and my first 1/12 ever. I'm even more glad to find that my build helped someone else. Cheers!

Joel my good adviser and friend: thank you sir for the continuous support since you joined the thread to the end! Your advice it's always highly appreciated (since I was struggling with my Chow Hound some three years aback) and I am genuinely happy you turned back to the hobby after the break.
If you found my build inspirational it is for my astonishment: a month ago I had not the slightest idea how this build was to end.
I feel myself dragged into auto modelling more and more...
...and yes, I use Automodeler for alternative builds as well.

My close future plans: finish the MPC Mack DM600 which I started for Big Rigs campaign, right here on Automodeler. Next I'm going to cross the border into your Kingdom - a Stuka with Italian markings for MTO campaign. Finally, I cannot wait for the Porsche Campaign in September. I just received for review a batch of paints from Tru-Color and among them it's a pearl coal that I cannot wait to try it out You know already I like trouble, don't you Then I have a few promises to fulfill for my YT channel crowd... and the heaviest it's a Russian T-44 with over thousand parts... so much I can anticipate right now...

Russell, my friend, you really stick with this build all along and I am very grateful for that. The reason I delayed this last update was because I wanted you to see the Victoria cover. Please check the update down below and Thanks!

LAST UPDATE
I re-glued today the mirror that I knocked down yesterday and resumed my picture taking because one side of the motorcycle was virtually missing (fairings on)

PHOTOSHOP TIME
My idea of riding a motorcycle is completely tied with night time: chill air in a nice summer night, empty streets, fresher air and dubious loyalty girls. Since I've seen that Tamiya offers the option for night mode display, my plan was set. I chose Victoria, Australia for Russell. I usually add "Easter eggs" in my builds / features in recognition for my friends. The Camaro Baldwin I published last as review, for instance, has the Danish flag for license plate, as recognition for Jesper's help along that build.

I will send for publishing the full feature as soon time allows me to write it down. I hope on July 17th the pilot episode on the video series dedicated to this build will be also published on my YT channel. Until then, here she comes...

Thanks again, guys, for your interest in this build and see you around! Joel, your Porsche Martini it's under close scrutiny

Cheers!

Thank you Gabriel, I'm really honored!

And yes, that's a great shot of Victoria by night. Looking across the Yarra river to Melbourne's CBD!

Keeping an eye out for the feature article

Thank you, Jim! Yes, it was a nice modeling experience and Staff Jim blessed me with a superb Tamiya kit as base for my exploits. I'm quite happy (and surprised) with the way this model turned out.
