Joel, had some time to do some unpacking in my workshop while waiting for some Sci-Fi paintjobs to dry.

Found this that I built in the early 90s, long before I knew about clearcoats for decals, etc.

Also pulled these from the stash boxes to the new storage shelves:

But, this is the one I'll probably be building for TBO:

Hope those Cartograph decals have aged well.

David,
your newly found Whistler IMSA GTO Mustang sure looks pretty good to me. Nice stash. Love the two GTO mustangs, especially the Revell Folger's 'Stang. As for the Tamiya Zakspeed Capri, I can't even remember the last time I saw one.

Unpacked another box of models and found this for the Bronco fans. Probably done in the late 90s, this was the truck my youngest brother drove to college in the late 80s.

Tried some small stuff I'd never tried before on this one. Painted wheel weights, wires, valve stems and door lock knobs in the window area.

Hi David.

A couple of really nice builds there mate, great work. That Zakspeed Capri is a mean looking unit as well, looking forward to that one hitting the bench for sure.

Thanks Damian.

I've been building a lot of Sci-Fi stuff lately and will be doing a warm-up auto or two before the GB begins.

I guess the Capri will be a quick build since is it is a curbside, just an exercise in painting and decaling.

Saw this in the parking lot at lunch:

Ford Fairlane 500 coupe. It's been worked on, that's not a stock hood and it has dual exhausts.
I don't think the rear window is stock either.

I'm guessing it's a62 or 63. We had a 1962 Mercury Comet, sedan not a coupe, but boy the lines look familiar.

We're still currently at 13 enlistees, and actively looking for more to join us on this epic campaign. Success here would mean more campaigns like it.

If you're still seating on the fence about joining, just take that short step & enlist, then start looking for a Ford to build.

"This Group Build is about celebrating the rich history and variety of designs built by the legendary "Blue Oval."

I'll be doing the Revell version of the #2 GT40 that won LeMans by mistake in 1966.

Patrick,
I'm looking forward to following your build. Yeah, Ford really screwed up trying to get all 3 cars across the finish line exactly at the same time, but the officials gave the McLaren/Amon car victory because it started further back on the grid then the other two cars.

Great to have you joining us Patrick, that takes us up to 14 enlisted now. I have added you to the list in the initial post of this thread.

Having a cup of coffee thismorning I was just randomly Googling "Ford Model Kits" and thought I would play around and build a random montage for todays "inspiration post."

It turned out ok, might just be the first of many

D,
Nice inspirational montage. But how about a few of the Ford Iconic race cars as well?

We've decided to amend the posting of the two pictures of the finished model in the Campaign Gallery in order to receive your campaign ribbon. Instead the rules were amended to:

"We've decided to not follow the standard rule of posting a min of two pictures of the finished model in the Campaign's Gallery. Instead a post in the Campaign build thread with just one sentence: "Your campaign name" completed build of the "name of the model", and then a min of two pictures."

We came to this conclusion as we all felt that finding the campaign Gallery that we created isn't exactly easy. And posting the pictures to your gallery isn't the same thing as we'll never see them. Honestly those that do manage to successfully post in the campaign gallery rarely if ever go back to look at the other finished models. So by posting your finished pictures in the campaign thread, all of the enlistees will see your finished work. As for your ribbon, I'll have a small spreadsheet to keep track of who finishes and will receive their ribbon.

We're also planning on doing a feature article that will contain two of your finished pictures so that the rest of Automaker and hopefully the Network will see them.

D,
Thanks so much for posting the link to the trailer for the next greatest racing movie. I've been counting the Months since the 1st rumor of another epic racing classic movie. I'll be one of the most frequent movie goers for this movie till it's not in the local theaters, then it's pay per view, and when it available for download you can bet I'll have it on my hard drive ASAP.

To this day there are 2 racing movies I watch a few times per year:

Grand Prix: I can play any part, identify every real F1 driver in any scene, and know all the original track configurations from 1967.

LeMans: Brilliantly done. Fantastic race scenes, and mostly all racing. Steve McQueen actually drove in some of the scenes. BTW his Porsche 930 Turbo sold at auction last year for 1.4 million Dollars.

Love both of those movies and would add Rush to the list as well. I feel it was very well done.

For a different kind of racing, the documentary Dust to Glory is an excellent depiction of the Baja 1000. I'll watch it at least once a year.

David,
I don't really remember Rush or Dust to Glory, so I'll google them and most likely find highlights or the entire movies on You Tube.

Rush was the James Hunt - Niki Lauda film by Ron Howard.

I forget who did the Dust to Glory documentary.

Mark,
I'd say it certainly does.

I'm hoping to rent Rush tonight on You Tube if we get home soon enough from the hospital and rehab center as my Mother in law is being transferred today.
