D,
The dash came out perfect, as did the whole interior. I'm looking forward to seeing how you handled the glass after a little cutting here and there.

And those valve covers are like Night & Day with the highlighting. They just jump right out at you.

Son ov a gun, look at this:

From an ad for a Car show in Maltby, Washington. Might be chrome chrome instead of gun metal chrome, but wow!

This is why I like to have multiple builds going. I can take a step back from one build and stop myself from rushing through and making a silly mistake, and while I take a breath and review where it's at I can pick up another and tinker a bit.

The '56 Hardtop is almost across the finish line. Glass is in and body fitted to chassis.

I had to do a little bit of surgery to get some parts to fit neatly, but the radiator and support is in, the battery is in, the grille and front and rear bumpers and the headlights are in place.

All I need to do now is paint and fit the radiator hose, which required a bit of work as off the sprue it didn't even come close to connecting where it should, then dry brush some gunmetal on the badges and door handles.

Cheers, D

D,
Looking real good.

I had to chuckle when you said that the radiator hose didn't come close to fitting when cut off the tree. I've found that issue with the vast majority of hoses and pipes no matter who made the kit. Even Tamiya has close but not perfect fit issues from time to time.

The finishing touches on the '56 Hardtop are in place, this one is officially off the bench and on display!

Thanks as always to everybody for your advice and support, now to go digging through the mountain of Chevy kits to find another '56 to take it's place!

D,
Nicely done, and congrats on officially crossing the finish line. Nothing like another one in the books.

I'm sure you won't have any problems finding another Bow Tie to build. But how about something a little more Modern like a 1965 Vette? Now there's a car even I love.

Absolutely stunning work Damian!

I really love the custom paint scheme, something different, but still classic!

Thanks for sharing mate, hope this one gets a spot front and centre in the display case!

That was a very interesting build, D.!

The color combo went surprisingly well - congratulations on a daring color scheme - very appealing indeed!

Cheers!
Gabriel

P.S. What about a NASCAR Bow Tie?

I visited, an American car club yesterday and what rolls into the courtyard, a late 60's red and gunmetal Chevy C10.
Pretty cool, but not as cool, as this one.

Jesper,
I wonder what the odds of that happening really are?

Not big.

I must add though, the body had the two tone paint job, the chrome was still chrome.

Found this video of a stunning '56, so it goes in this thread, but the colour scheme is the same as my '55 Convertible!
