There are some neat dioramas in there, you can see the effort that is put into these. This is a different world of modelling that I haven't seen much of.

Quite right. 1/87 is more than just HO scale for model railroading. In Europe, 1/87 is a popular scale for automotive modelers. It is also a popular scale for military modeling. One can find 1/87 modeling - individual subjects as well as extensive dioramas - without a railroad subject in sight.It is amazing how detailed some of these modelers trick out their mini motor vehicles - extensive kitbashing/modifications, working lights, animated features, even using magnets to "drive" them around roadways. Amazing.
