Caterpillar CB224E

If you all remember I did a similar transformation with front loader from New Ray which was built as a child's toy. To refresh your memories see my 'Photo Portfolio' in my profile.
Now, this trip around, it is a Caterpillar Roller CB224E from the toy company, Bruder. I bought this toy from the super market, just like the Front Loader. I took it apart and scratch built some parts to replicate the original as close as possible. I looked at many and finally decided to model a particular model called the CB224E. There are many similar models that are pretty much the same but different engine specs and certain smaller physical attributes distinguish them apart. Otherwise they were pretty much the same. I think pictures say a thousand words. Enjoy.

Wow...a Brudor tansformation this time...very slick!
I like the worn seat cover{in the middle though?}...reminds me of our forktruck at work where the entry side always goes to snot.

Thanks. Glad Young like it. The worn seat was an idea i got from a pic of a similar one on the net in the exact same place.

Excellent job, Charles. I saw one of these in a toy store yesterday. You sure made a lot of changes.

Thanks Jim. Much appreciated. It was fun to convert. I may just end up doing another Bruder toy set. They seem to have many good toy construction, as well as trucks. With some work they can be made to look authentic.

I've been tempted to try one of their Mack Granite dumps. One of these day, maybe.
