M.A.N. Burnt Out Cab

  • move
I have been experimenting lately with different burnt out effects lately. As you can see in some pics I have tried simulating carbon fibers as they literally tear into almost thread-like material, by using disinfection wipes. It looks 'OK' but not quite perfect. I have added more modulation effects on the cab and more weathering on the overall cab and truck as a whole.
The right tyre is flat. It is difficult to tell with all the ashes surrounding it. And yes, my reference photo had a similar attribute. I know most would wonder why the right tyre did not get burnt to a crisp like the left tyre...
In most cases depending on the degree of the fire and where it was most intense. I have seen photos with similar attributes.
I think , I am satisfied with the results , especially, after taking some outside photos of the model.

Charles, your modeling is not only amazing, but it's on a scale that few of us can ever hope to come close to. Your burnt out tracker is not only just super detailed, but certainly looks as though it completely burnt in a cab fire. Even the exterior cab paint looks as real as one could imagine of it being engulfed in flames. Sure hoping that your still considering joining us for the Ford Oval campaign. Joel

Hi Joel. Appreciate your kind words. Still have not decided on the Ford Oval Campaign yet. I gave to be inspired first. And I have no idea, what I want to do. I have no Ford kit either. I think, I have to go over the rules first.

Charles, Sir, your skill level is what I hope to attain someday. The steel bands of the burn out tire really scream "realistic!"
