Description
The first generation of the Ford Thunderbird was produced from 1955 to 1957. From the 1956 Ford Thunderbird, a 2-door convertible, a total of 53,166 units were produced. It was a completely new concept in automotive engineering, which was called a "personal luxury car" and combined sporting performance with luxury and comfort.
For the 1956 model year, rectangular fresh air openings were added to the front fenders and the exhaust tips were moved to the ends of the bumper. In order to improve the view to the rear with the hardtop on, "portholes" windows were available as a free option.
